Joshua Walker

Decatur, GA

As a young man, Joshua spent countless hours fishing with his grandparents from the banks of Lake Oconee and during pontoon rides down the St. Johns River. It was then his love for the sport grew. Being on the water is where he not only learned how to fish, but the essential life skills that have carried him thus far.

Joshua’s competitive nature is both on the water and on land. He ran track in high school and had a very successful tenure. He went on to attend the University of Florida competing in the 110 meter hurdles. During his time he competed as a member of the track team becoming a 6x NCAA All American, 2x SEC Champion and 2x NCAA champion. At the conclusion of his collegiate career he competed professionally for Reebok, qualifying for 4 United States National Teams before his retirement in 2009. Joshua is currently a law enforcement officer, where he serves his community daily. When asked what drives him to kayak fishing he simply replied, "The hunger of competing and doing what I love".
