Rhonda Phillips

Braselton, GA

Rhonda may have grown up in Florida but she calls gorgeous Georgia her home. Her love of nature inspired her to become a Certified Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator for several years, (specializing in rabbits) before she was introduced to fishing just 4 years ago on her first date by her now fiancé. Since then she has been hooked and eagerly seeks new knowledge and challenges in all aspects of fishing, whether it be new techniques, gear, locations or different species. In 2018, her fishing adventures around Georgia lead her to become the first official female angler to accomplish the Georgia Bass Slam. Not only will she attempt to use her southern sweet-talking to catch a fish, she also knows how to fling a fly and is an active member of the Georgia Women Fly Fishers. Don’t be fooled by her quiet demeanor, she’s liable to out fish you or at least out fuss you when she misses a good fish. (“son of a fish” is often heard) She attempts to be a constant encourager to all women to just get out there to enjoy the beauty of nature even if fishing isn’t their cup of tea… eh, coffee.
